The Anti-Spyware Coalition (ASC) is a group, composed of anti-spyware software companies, academics, and consumer groups. It's declared aim is to bring more consensus about definitions and best practices in the debate surrounding spyware and other potentially unwanted technologies.

This document embodies ASC's effort to establish definitions that will bring more clarity to anti-spyware terminology, which continues being a matter of concern due to multiple interpretations.
